Hello fellow Malaysians!
It doesn’t surprise me that Malaysia Day, Mid-Autumn Festival and Hari Raya Haji fall into the same week. This multicultural, multiethnic and multi religious country of ours loves a celebration and if you saw my wife’s collection of inflatable pool swans, you’d know we are no exception!
Whether this means eating around the clock in KL or taking adventures around Penang to find the best fried chicken. Arguing with the taxi driver in Malacca over the best satay, hanging milo from its plastic bag on the handles on your motor bike in JB or squatting on a plastic chair in Ipoh that’s so small it belongs in kindergarten… we are a nation that loves to eat and I’m proud of that!
Speaking of proud, breaking world records and taking away three gold medals at the Rio Paralympics was an incredible feat! Ridzuan Puzi, Ziyad Zolkefli and Abdul Latif you have done us proud boys! Soak up all the praise – it’s well deserved!
To further celebrate Malaysia Day, The Big Life team have been working hard on the newest issue of the magazine… Malaysia Boleh! Full of stories, recipes and all things Malaysian, click here to check it out this long weekend.
So whatever plans you have with your family this week, Happy Malaysia Day, Happy Mid-Autumn Festival & Happy Hari Raya Haji friends. Live to eat, don’t eat to live. I’ll be cooking up a feast at home with those closest to me and I can assure you… fried chicken will be involved (and most likely many moon cakes too!).
Oh and just because 😉 …
